Hey all.... I am posting this here because A7 has been crazy busy with work and everything else going on.
Saturday we went out and splurged on a new tank for our saltwater creatures. We were going to get a 55 gal. tank and move our 30 gal salt water critters to this new 55. Well once we got the tank home we started looking at a few things and realized this tank is bigger than a 55. It was originally a custom made tank for another customer. The customer decided he couldn't use it so I was able to buy it.

Turns out this tank is about a 62 gal tank. It is taller than a regular 55 gal tank.

Inside the tank with the egg crate to help protect the bottom glass.

Top plumbing for the overflow to the sump. (a.k.a. home made Durso Standpipe.)

Flow control valves between the overflow at the top of the tank to the sump down below the tank.

Final plumbing job. Hope all the seals hold up.

Test fill. A7 filling up the tank for the first time. I think he was holding his breath hoping the seals will hold.

Test run. And it held!!! It worked at about 500 gallons per hour flow rate. Only one minor leak that goes directly into the sump... Still needs to be fixed.
There will be more pics as we progress with this. Saltwater tanks take awhile to do right and I am hoping this one goes well. Hopefully soon we will be able to move or critter from the 30 gallon tank to this new 55+ tank.
