Turning off cores, I guess that's the sole advantage of having the two cores in two seperate dies (Intel has two dies on one package for dual core, AMD does both cores in one die on one package), because I doubt you can do that if it was just one processor die. Havent heard of that, but the Core Duo is the only dual core mobile cheap right now.

I think its fairly impressive that you can now have two cores and still maintain about the same battery life of old single core CPU's.

One thing to note, and really has nothing to do with Apple, is that I personally dont like widescreen monitors (call me weird) but they just feel so weird when I've seen them. At school we got a shipment of them in my computer class, they're smaller 19" widescreen 16:9, I perfer my old CRT in that class.
