A SLI system performs better, yes.

This card is basically Nvidia's way of trying to steal the single card performance crown from ATi. In a way it works, its very expensive though, and makes little sense right now with Vista (yeah, laugh) apporaching.

Its two cards glue'd together that only need one PCIe slot to plug into. While only needing one slot, there has been no successful use of it on non-SLI motherboards, so what's the point? None really.

Nothing but a media stop gap and for Nvidia not to look totally blown away by ATi.
