Ok, after looking through your suggestions and looking at things on my computer, I think my video card is running too hot. Just on the desktop its at 44 degrees C so I'm guessing running HL2 or D3 at full settings is going to push it through the roof. I'm going to install a new fan or two (though I'm not sure where or how yet) to see if that helps.

my 6800gt card runs normal at 72C when it is on the desktop. Thats just the nature of my beast though
