Sorry I quit Dynamic, but I was tired. It probably wasn't the right game etiquite. I won't do it again. I hope I didn't dissapoint you. You were on a roll. You were doing a teriffic job covering the map. I really had to work hard to keep from getting trapped. Hehe, you almost had me once, thanks for the EWD. That was fun, but I was so tired I just couldn't keep up with it.
Actually, I spent most all of my bank balance to tech up to level 45 in Beams and Shields just to damage you a little as you removed my planets. My other techs were lower. I didn't have enough cash to die and tech up to a level that would have been close enough to even take on your sector defenses or planets with you at level 48. So I sent what little cash I had left to Dr. K. If I had Dr. K online with me, we might have been able to hold our own for a little while, but the end was inevitable, and I would rather spend the time on the next game. I figured that if I left the game, you would have eventually found me and it would have been over anyway.
It would have been fun if I was at an equal tech level, would have made things much more interesting.
I wasn't able to consult with my other Alliance members Dr. K. and Drakken, so I hope they weren't too pi$$ed at me leaving. Hope they understand after reading this treatise.
Makes it tough to play the game when only one or two people are on at a time. You get picked off while you are offline, and come back in the next logon to find yourself naked at sector zero.
I'm just a newbie, but it seems to me that this would be much more interesting if tech levels were capped, say at 40, and somehow get alliance team members online together to make combat more interesting.
Also, when you die, all your planet tech levels drop, and makes for some quick losses from attacks on your banking planets, especially when you are offline. Too bad the sectors/planets can't be configured with their own tech levels chosen by the owner alliance. That way you can protect your interests a little longer. Also when your ship is destroyed, a percentage of you bank balance should be removed. When one player or alliance gets overwhelming wealth, its almost impossible to defend yourself. I'm just expressing my opinion here. This game has been very successful in its existing format, who am I to criticize.
I guess this is a configuration listed below, in my opinion that would be playable with alliance members that have to come and go. (We do have real lives, don't we)
1. Cap Tech levels
2. When a player is offline, have a safe zone to park his ship. The sectors/planets may be vulnerable, but at least you can pick up where you left off with your ship. Of course this could lead to problems with people running to the safe zone when online to avoid damage. Gonna depend on the integrity of the players.
3. Have a brief, scheduled period of empire building with no attacks allowed. Allows people, especially newbies get on their feet and have a fighting chance.
4. Anybody else have any ideas.
5. What do the bots actually do? Seems like once the fighting begins, they should be turned loose with a vengence. I never encountered Level 45 Botil once. Do they build and maintain planets and form alliances?
6. If none of this is dooable, or not desired by the seasoned players, I'm fine with that and will play it in any configuration Soul likes/wants.
I really enjoy this game, and it can get very addicting from a time standpoint. I have no complaints or any hard feelings the way this last game played out. After all, I play for fun and fun I had.
Once again, sorry for quitting. I shoulda just parked the ship and taken my chances again today.
I'm starting to ramble. This old body can't take those 24hour stints anymore.
