Yeah, I agree with Erad on the ink. You'll pay a bit more, but in the long run it will be worth it. And make sure you get good photo paper, too. The images won't come out the same on regular printer paper.
Also, look into printers that have a separate photo-only ink cartridge. We have that on ours at home, and I think it will make a difference.
