Why is it different? Just because it happened in a dorm. It was at least 2 hours after the first shooting that the second start. From my experiences as a cop for 11 years, even if they had shut things down, they would have gone back to business as usual by the time the second shooting started. Then there would have probably been more people in the halls going to class. There was no reason for the police to think that the first shooting was going to continue to the second. Most psychopaths dont wait 2 hours to continue their killing spree. The only person to blame for this shooting is the person who did it. The police and school staff did the best they could with the information they had. I makes me sick that the media is allowed to manipulate people into blaming someone other than the person that did the crime.

If he had left a note at the first crime scene stating he was going to the class rooms to do what he did, that is a different story. He could have easily gone to a Strip Joint and done his rampage shooting there instead. You can't 2nd guess without known motives or clues. A lock down of the Whole US would have prevented this? NOT! So, I agree that you can't blame VT. The Press is the Press..... Can't trust them as far as you can...... heck, they sway the elections every 2 years....... and stupid people believe what they hear from the press as the solid proof, instead of listening, thinking, processing and forming thier own much more intelligent opinion based on facts, not what the press spews for ratings...
