When my GeForce 5950Ultra overheated, I was playing UT2K4 and all of a sudden the pictures of the map began "tearing." It looked like they were on a sheet of paper that had been torn down the middle and slightly folded...pretty weird and hard to explain unless you've seen it...this was happening with the 3D movement that I normally see while playing 2K4 except for the visual appearance of a torn page.

When the 8800GTXs over heat the system either freezes up, but in UT2K4 the sound continues, or the system just reboots itself. As nearly as I can tell the frozen system occurs when the vid cards overheat; the spontaneous reboot, when the CPU overheats (only happens when I have it seriously overclocked).

The 8800GTXs freeze up at temps well below 120C...high 70s to mid 80s.
