The software isn't bad, its actually improved with each version. When I got my first Logitech high end mouse (MX700) and so on. I've had the MX700, MX500, MX510, MX518, and now the G5. So I'm really familiar with the Logitech family of mice in the upper end. I love the feel and the reason I've stuck with them so much is because they are the only mice that really allow my hand to be comfortable after a lot of use.
