Hmmm, is a trick being played on me?

Our IT office sits next to the main computer room. This room has lots of support equipment in it also. Dept UPS, air conditioner, backup air conditioner, plus all the servers and phone system crap. So once in a while you hear alarms from something, especially when the door to that room gets opened.

The air conditioner is very loud, and the alarm on it is high pitched and barely audible above the noise of the blower. I can always hear that alarm going off if the door is opened, nobody else in the dept can pickup that high pitched alarm, so I constantly tell them it is going off and they didn't hear it when they walked next to the alarm panel. I know they are jealous that I can hear this alarm, especially since I hear low pitch sounds poorly, the losers

So a couple weeks ago an alarm would be heard intermittently, so intermittently that I and another co-worker could not find the source. But it seemed louder near my desk. This week I've only hear the sound once or twice a day, instead of a few times per hour.

I know LB goes to Thinkgeek.com . . . and I just spotted this little gadget on their website! I'm thinking I know the true source of this little alarm . . . I just have to prove it
