My son took the file over to a friends house, and it's running fine there on an AMD 3500+ with an nVidia 6600GT, and an AMD 3700+ with an nVidia 7600GS.

your slowest system is faster than my and wilds computers (slower than my laptop though).
I ended up completly removing the video card in hardware settings on my computer. then rebooting and reinstalling newest drivers then rebooting and now it works on my system flawlessly with all settings on low. now im going to try that with wilds computer..... at least I now have 2 computers that it works on
