Sort of, the focus really should state it was because of a game. Though the Nintendo DS is the best hardware, then the Sony PSP, then the Nintendo Wii. Japan is a heavy portable console market these days. Though Nintendo is extremely strong there, Microsoft just happens to do extremely bad.

As for world wide, Nintendo is leading for sales since Wii release and might have passed Xbox 360 in total since if even counting the 360s 1 year head release. The Wii is selling at full capacity and literally couldn't sell higher than it is right now, they're being bought right as they're made. The Xbox 360 is doing well, just had their best non-holiday month with the Halo 3 release, and then Playstation 3 is doing....... really really really bad.
