Yes, DD2 is the CPU system RAM, GDDR3 is for the cards GPU's memory.

Might as well get 2 9800's. Looking at Newegg, the 9800gtx is the same or less cost than the 8800gtx. If you want less expensive, I'd get the Chem Recommended 8800gts (g92) version.
