well i dont look into 4x4s much, but do they make a ranger 4x4? my dads 2x4 ranger got good mpg. i understand where you're coming from, i didnt say it wasnt practical, its the definition of practicality if you're into stuff like you are. it just looks fugly. and i'd never say to put 87 in something that reccommends 91, it does that because of compression and you dont want to skimp on it. i do tell people they're retarded for putting 91 (93 around here) when they drive a car that takes 87 because they think premium = high performance...anyway, do what you want, but im going to laugh at you, lol
actually 91 will get you better gas mileage. I am not sure about performance as in 0-60mph. I am sure it gives you a small boost but not much. Smiley could answer that better than I can as he knows all about it .
