BF2 is the pwnt!!!
One thing, chem stated that there is no close combat, which I feel differently about. Different maps offer varying types of combat, I've played quite a few maps that engaged some serious close combat. Not CS style where you are humping the leg of your enemy, but still close quarters combat. I think the style of combat is also dictated by the players on the server, if you are playing with BF n00bs then you will see excessive vehicle use.... more seasoned BF players will balance their FPS and vehicle use.
