heh...i was looking through the news for today and saw all these reports about mimic and was like, wtf, i didn't attack anybody?!?

so, when getting your revenge, just remember that mim != mimic

mimic is scotty's roommate, he didn't know mim was short for mimic.

question...if you die in the first week and create a new player and start from scratch, is that illegal?

I've heard masada has been reported as a cheater?

I've done some reading in the forums.

Where they consider it cheating is when a player places all his assets, say IGB on a planet or planets they own, make a list of those planets, self-destructs intentionally, or I guess if they forgot to buy an escape pod, then comes back in as another player and grabs the loot, so to speak since the planets with the assets are still there. The give away is a very sudden increase in score almost to the level they were before in a very short time as they reclaim their planet(s) There may be some other variations on this, but that is what I have read.

I can't say that I would call it cheating though, especially if they lost ground over where they were in the first place. I guess it depends on the motivation of the player if they were intentionaly trying to exploit a situation, or just recovering from an honest mistake.

he didn't get his money - I took his planets, the rest was in igb and he lost that.

I guess I'm missing something. What happened to Masada? I thought he was out of the game, so why would he be accused of cheating?

Typically, if you have more than 1 account it is considered cheating.

If you blow your ship with out an escape pod then you are out of the game, you don't get to restart. That is why there are escape pods. Since account creation stays up for a week I don't really have much of a problem.

Also, I thought that when you blow up your ship w/o an escape pod your planets go Inde' and you have to attack them to get them. That is what happened when Ghost died last game.

Oh, and being reported as cheating means squat since this is a private game they can't do anything to it. If we were using the global account server then it could be an issue for him, but they can't touch him.

his planets did go independent. Blitz took his best ones, which is how Mas got killed...trying to take them back (he forgot to buy an escape pod). I got the rest.

He has restarted the game under a different name, but he started with nothing but what we all start with.
