A thread for the begginners of AATrade!

Hey everyone, I know sometimes no one wants to read a FAQ, or simply, it is just way to darn confusing so im going to lay out a simple strategy and some beginners tips for those want to give AATrade a Try!.

To start - You begin in Sector 1, You have a crude ship called the Pioneer with awful ship levels. You also start with 10,000,000 credits! So your first task is to upgrade your hulls to level 14 for 8,169,000 credits. Now its time to learn to move. There are two ways to move :

Warp - This is useing the warp links at the bottom right hand of your screen. The Warp links ALWAYS cost 1 turn, but only take you to the specified location. Think of warp links as tunnels to different areas.

Real Space - At first, your engines will be at 0, so this means it can cost 2000 to 5000 turns to go to 1 place - simply said, that sucks so dont do it it hurts really bad to lose that many turns. When you get your engines to at leave a level of 19, you can real space ANYWHERE for usually 1 or 2 turns. Getting your Engines to level 21 will let you real space EVERYWHERE for only 1 turn. **ALSO** You can real space through sectors 1,2,3,4 for only 1 turn. This is the only exception to the normal realspace rules.

Now, Lets go get some money. I will us the current game to make examples. Sector 1, has no warp links, however it has an upgrade port! Now lets warp to Sector 2. Sector 2 has lots of warp points so its now time to learn to trade. First At the bottom right there are two ways to scan:

#### [Scan] - This scans that sector individually and will tell you everything that is in that sector, such as the warp links, fighters, mines, ships, and planets.

[Full Scan] - This gives you a list of every sector, and will tell you what each sector has in it.

When trading in this game of black nova, Tradeing Ore to Goods, and Goods to Ore, IS KING! So lets full scan sector 2. You see 1 Ore ports, and two Goods Ports. Lets start with the sector 1425 - Ore. [Scan] that sector, and see if it has a link back to sector 2. ( When starting a game you dont want to leave the sectors of 1,2,3,4 for a while. ) It does have a link back to two, so lets [Warp] into setor 1425. Once in sector 1425, Full Scan again to see the neighboring ports. You can see that there is a Goods Ports, so [Scan] and you see it has a link back to 1425. This is good because two sectors have to have links to each other to be able to create a trade route. So go to sector 451 then go back to 1425. ** It saves time to create the trade route closer to sector 2 ** . So, To create a trade route. Here is the way. At the bottom right corner, click the [add] button next to trade routes. A new screen will pop up :

Starting Points
Port ; #### <--- Insert the port number ( in our case, 1425 should already be there

Ending Point
Port : #### <---- Insert the ending port number ( in our case, 451 )

Select Move Type :
******WARNING****** BE CAREFUL, Selecting realspace will trade you from one location to the other, but through real space so in about 5 page refreshes, you are out of turns. AT THIS POINT IN THE GAME USE ***WARP*** Routes. Try very hard not to mess this up!

Select Circuit, Just let it allways stay at Both Ways.

Now that we have a trade route created, You will go back to the universe. At about the middle right you will see your Trade Route, Port<=>451 , Click that and you will automatically run your port once. Run it as you see fit, Also when you are ready to upgrade your ship. Warp to 2, then to 1 to get back to the upgrade port!

At this part of the Game I will list the general steps that most people take.

Run your trade route to around 8,200,000 - Upgrade hulls to 15

Take a look at the ships, the next ship you want is the Columbus. It cost 100,000,000 to buy. So go back to your trade route and you want to run your trade route till you get up to 100,000,000 *** ALSO you can sell your ship and get some money back, however we want to get 100,000,000 or more plus the price of our ship, to get the hulls up back up to 15, or 16.

Now you have a Columbus with 15 hulls, lets assume.

Run your trade route till 16,000,000 ish and get hull 16

Same thing to 32,000,000 ish get hull 17

Same thing to 64,000,000 get hull 18

Same thing to 130,000,000 ish get hull 19

Same thing to 260,000,000 ish get hull 20

By this time, your port is probably drained pretty well from all the trade routes, so now here is the next step.

Its time to venture away from ole sector 1-4. To start just follow any warp link out, and prepare to join the universe. Now just find warp trade routes like we did earlier with sector 1425, and run the port till you can get to about 800,000,000 and then warp around useing full scans and warps, till you can find a random upgrade port. When you finally manage to find one. Go and Upgade your Hulls to 21, and your Engines to about 18.

Congratulations you are now on the beginning path of real space trading!

So now that you have engines of 18, go and get a pad of paper and a pencil. At the middle right side of the screen you should see a square box, 5 by 5. These are sectors in the vicinity of the sector you are currently in. even at level 15 engines you can realspace to each one with 1 turn, however 8 is a safe level for now. So why the pad and pencil? Its time to find some ports, useing the real space box, click the ? closest to the RED dot first, and just write down ports that you find our good ports! It is as simple as that! ** HINT ** The current caps on some of the Goods is around 67 MAX, so 57 and up work well, and for ORE is around 95ish so 75 to 95's are good.

Now, save till about 1,004,000,000 Credits and get hull 22

This time, we want to save to about 3,500,000,000 and go to a shipyard and buy an ENDEAVOUR! This is your best ship for trade routes for the most part. Buy the ship, sell your old ship, then upgrade the Hulls to 23, If you didnt quite have enough for 23, then get 22's, also remember to upgrade those engines to 20ish ASAP. Run your trade routes to get to 23 if you dont have.

Now you have an Endeavour at Hull 23 so...

Run trade routes to 4,016,000,000 credits and get hull 24

Run trade routes to 8,032,000,000 and get hull 25

This is basically everything you need to know about being a trader!

25 is a decent level to begin colinizing planets, however the bigger the hull, the easier it is!

---```---~~~ TIPS ~~~---```---
**DEBRIS** - Caution! Debris is very tempting * anyone who knows me... yeah * But be careful, Debris can: Take Your Armor, Fighters, Mines, Energy, and Credits. ALSO the debris, can PERMENETLY take your ships levels down, Either 1 at a time, or ALL OF THEM -1. The good part is that debris can also take your ship levels up 1 PERMENETLY, either 1 level or ALL OF THE LEVELS +1, AND the feared debris, is the NOVA BOMB - Basically, BOOM you lost your ship. Also, you can get spy's through debris by some unknown way. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

If you see a sector with unkown fighters and torpedoes, just run away. Dont risk blowing your ship up cause the sector says it has less then you. There are jammers that can alter your perception of the number of troops and it can be 10x as many troops then you thought, then BOOM.

Go to a device port *Sector 2* and buy some mine deflectors, emergency warp devices, and a fuel scope.

Mine Deflectors, do just that deflect mines. YAY

Emergency Warp Devices, If a player trys to attack you, you will warp away instantly to another sector saving you from attack. YAY! * DOESNT always work *

Fuel Scope, Everytime you realspace you can collect energy, but you have to have a fuel scope on. Energy is Important at lower and higher levels in the game. At Lower Levels, the energy scooped, can be sold! Just raise your POWER levels to increase the energy that you can scope! At higher levels, the energy is used to power your BEAMS and SHIELDS.

----~~~~ Colonizing your First Planet, and Creating your sector! ----~~~~
*Will come back and finish later *
