AA Traders Shut Down and Reset

I will be shutting down the AA Traders game shortly. I will be making numerous changes to the settings to put us more on par with the standard games the other AA Traders servers are running.

I'm hoping with the changes that we will attract more players and that we will slow down players like Mike, keeping him from being able to attack other players who are just getting started. Because of the settings changes, the games will be set to run longer because it will take longer to get established and get a ship and planets built up.

I apologize for the actions of Mike, who managed to ruin the game for a number of us. I will not stop him from playing, but I'm hoping the changes we make will force him to play differently.

I have finished resetting the server. The server is open for account creation but I will not open the game until tomorrow morning so that everyone has an equal chance to get signed up.

The major changes are as follows:

1. The universe is now 150,000 light years as opposed to the previous 15,000 light years. This means that you will have to warp through space much longer because it will take engine levels of at least 25 to be able to realspace in 1 or 2 turns. This was done to slow player's ability to map out the universe and find everyone else.

2. The bounty system is back on.

3. The IGB is on with a max deposit amount of 500 billion credits. This will give you the ability to build a little nest egg, but you will still have to keep a lot of money on your planets so that eventually attacking will be worthwhile.

4. Planetary apocolypse and independant takeovers will occur only every 1440 minutes.

The rest of the settings are whatever the standard game settings were, except for turns which are still at 35 every 5 minutes, with a max of 20,000.

I hope we can attract more players and have a much better game experience.

it is now. I wasn't going to open it until morning so everyone would have a chance to get signed up, but it seems dumb to leave it shut down overnight on a Friday.
