BF2: Special Forces Downloads - New EA Service [November 10, 2005, 11:22 pm ET] - 35 Comments
This Battlefield 2 Update (thanks Frans) announces that Battlefield 2: Special Forces is available for purchase and download online, with the game available fro pre-download as of now. This release of the BF2 expansion kicks off a new digital distribution service from EA that's strikingly similar to Steam, Valve's way of circumventing traditional publishers like, well, EA. Word is that those who preload will be able to play the game on November 22 at 1:00 pm EST, suggesting the add-on is near complete, if not actually gold.

We have to decide if we want to have a special forces server or a regular bf2 server. Right now it appears you can't have both.

well for me im getting bored of reg bf2. I was going to ask this ? before but slipped my mind. they may make it so a server can run both but for now its not possible. Maybe we should try out sf first????? I know im very interested in sf just because of the nighttime scnenarios.

I dont see how the rank system could integrate with bf2. so I dont see a benefit in going sf.

but i know i will get it. it has the apache, those can have their own radar. it would totally own the open field.
