An official demo (not the beta test) is soon to be released,
and the other OLD FaRTS have been given a Branzone server to run it on.
I doubt I'll be buying it, but I'll certainly check the demo:

regardless of the bugs and botched passes with BF2, it lasted well over a year worth of play time, I would say I got my money out of it. More so than HL2, Q4, Doom3
