Any tips or thoughts on what unlocks to pick?

Right now I'm focusing on the squad leader, engineer and support upgrades but started with the basic player ones: frag grenade, speed boost and speed recovery.

The engineers C4 and motion detection mines are great. I tried the engineers anti-air as a field upgrade but didn't have a chance to use it much.

One observation: I got the engineers "auto-repair" which is supposed to fix vehicles as you drive (or passenger) but so far I haven't seen it work. Or is it like BF2 where it works on neigbouring vehicles?

A key one: the squad leader spawn pod. It can make a huge difference on getting flags/titan points. But make sure you hide it well so it doesn't get destroyed which is an advantage from a spawning point of view anyway.

I just finished the assault tree - not sure what I am moving on to next.

For the spawn pod, if you are defending the titan, move it indoors along the back wall behind the force field shield , saves a load of time.

OK I admit it I'm such a goof. I have not used a single unlock yet. (Currently holding 7) I've been trying to pick up other players kits and see what weapon I like. I've only got to use the Shotgun, and the Carbine, but I want to try out the others before I spend my hard earned unlocks.

I want to try that engineer rifle with the armor piercing bullets. Bet they you do a job on a person

I've been working assualt, but picked up the claymore (APM) from recon. I have determined that the support & eng'r stock guns suck. I hope the unlocks are better.

It sucks you have to get the shotgun add on for the assault class to progress up the tree, I never use that one - so it was a waste... I wish you could truly pick what you wanted.
