control issue...

my keyboard layout is real strange so please help me with my problem first lol

my strafe right key is the right ALT. but game keeps telling me the key is already assigned in the common controls but i dont see it

anybody having other issues?

i wanna play

Yes body, you need to clear the other key that is already assigned to the key you want to set.

So if you want to set something as say 'F' you need to location what is already set as 'F' and assign it like '.' then assign your new key as 'F'

I am having the same issue. I cannot find the key that the game says is in use. It is nowhere. There are two keys I want to remap but I can't.

it will tell you what set its under. i.e. "common" or "aircraft"

It will say which section is using it. i.e. That button is bound in common controls

I had same problem, found a fix. some keys are system (game) bound and don't show in the ingame binding menu.

1. you need to open up Controls.con in notepad. it's located in ( \My Documents\Battlefield 2 Demo\Profiles\0001 note 0001 is example)

2. search and remove all references to LeftAlt or RightAlt (whichever one you use). then you can bind it in game.

the line in Controls con will look something like this...

ControlMap.addKeyToTriggerMapping c_GIRightAlt IDFKeyboard IDKey_RightAlt 0 0

just delete the line.
