Desert-Conflict.org now offers the debut release of the Desert Conflict modification for Battlefield 1942 (thanks Nathan). Like the Desert Combat mod for Battlefield 1942, Desert Conflict brings modern desert conflicts to Battlefield 2, which normally centers around, well, modern desert conflicts. The mod does, however, return some of the aspects of BF1942 DC to BF2, including dumbfire missiles for aircraft, handheld AA & ground based AA, familiar vehicles, a Capture The Flag game type, classic maps, player operated artillery, and more.

Hmmm, sounds interesting, may have to load BF2 and start playing it again.

Battlefield just doesn't quit does it...

I played a few rounds in this mod. I have mixed emotions, some maps are kewl and others are too large. It's a kewl mod to play when you get bored of the regular BF2.
