Have you two tried updating your chipset drivers?

I dont think its graphics drivers related, or it could just be a specific config issue with your system. I'm willing to bet the first patch fixes a lot of issues.

What do you mean by chipset driver? You mean CPU or MB?

I changed the sound option from software to Hardware. Is it a good move? Which one (software or Hardware) give the best sound?

Hardware should.

Chipset drivers are the drivers that tell the chipset how to function on the motherboard. The chipset is the device that links everything together on the mobo and lets it all work together.

Tell me what type of motherboard you have BIC and I can link you to the newest chipset drivers for you.

ASUS P4P800 (intel 865 Chipset), FSB 800MHz, Dual DDR 400. CPU = intel 3.2E

Since I moved to Hardware (for sound), it has not crashed yet. I don't want to get to the conclusion to fast this time, so I will keep playing and see if it was the prob.

Upgrating the Chipset driver, does it mean falshing the BIOS? How can I know what Chipset driver version I have?

Edit:

Under Divice manager, system board, driver version = 5.1.2600.0

Same under processor = 5.1.2600.0

Well if you dont have anymore issues then you should be fine and not need to worry about updating the drivers.

Updating chipset drivers is just like doing driver updates for your graphics card.

You may want to update your sound drivers... I updated my Audigy 2 drivers and I noticed less lag.
