Dedicated Server question.

I can't figure out how to turn the bots on. REally, there isn't a whole lot of info out there that I can find beside the basic Rcon commands.

I hope to be able to install a better admin interface soon.....but the one I've been checking out is still being tested....

Everything I've read say no bots. The way you had bots in the preivous versions was through Co-op mode.



Its unfortunate that http://www.blackbagops.com/ won't be putting out a BF2 version, most hosting companys for BF42 and V ran his management software.

Guys, I am sorry to disappoint you but the reality of my situation goes like this. As you know, right now I am a university student and in addition to studying I must find new and interesting ways to pay my way through university.

My preferred way of achieving this is by doing contract coding work during the university holiday periods. Now I did approach EA (off my own bat) about writing a server manager for BF2 during the upcoming holiday period. They were initially quite keen on this idea but they later declined my offer citing schedule and availability differences.

I have since been approached by another well known PC game developer to write server management software for another well known online PC multiplayer game sequel. We are currently in contract negotiations. If this deal goes ahead and I see no reason why it won't, I will not have time to even consider doing other work before the end of November this year.

On the question of releasing the BxSM source code; I will not do so while this code has commercial earning potential (see above). Some of you will no doubt think I am "greedy" when I say this and to you I say "have you ever tried to pay your way through a $60,000 university degree while studying full-time?".

If by the end of the year there are still a large number of admins interested in seeing a BBO BF2 toolset I will consider developing one then. I have some good ideas for a next-gen toolset that have received very positive feedback from some of my internal test team members.

However, as I say above, if this project was to go ahead it would not be free this time. Gone are the days when I can spend all my spare time coding for free. This project would need to demonstrate real earning potential to justify three months of work over the summer. I will seriously entertain any proposals.

Anyway, I think I've explained my position well enough. I'm sure you all understand where I'm coming from with this.
