I was doing some development on the BF2 Stats Buster project...that came to a screeching halt, lol. After some preliminary snooping, I found that the stats are still "available" for querying...just not by the general populace. It won't be a permanent filtering, so just take a couple deep breaths and go outside

I am hoping that they fix alot of the bugs.. like the stupid bunny hopping manuevers.. it belongs in quake and ut those type of games not in military fps games.. players padding their stats even tho that will be a very hard one to truly stop..

I also encountered a clan trying to "up" their stats by all getting on one team with one on other team and capturing and recapturing a flag and by giving out giving out exact movements and blowing up commanders artillary, etc... (meaning the one on other team)

Here is one of their stats.. (This guy aint that good.. I have played against him)

OK it wasn't EA, it was GameSpy.

14 July 2005 - We've confirmed that the stats stuff has been blocked at the GameSpy end. There is a (trivial) workaround to get it working again, but we're assuming that this change was made for a reason so we have contacted GameSpy asking for permission to continue this service. Please stay tuned!

Apparently, forum rumor is that a ddos occurred on Gamespy.

http://bf2web.gamespy.com is offline as well.
