Power Supply Utilization Calculator

http://www.extreme.outervision.com/index.jsp

This is a very useful tool for anyone looking to build a new computer, or even just curious if their current PSU is easily powering their rig. A very wide range of options, so I think everyone should be able to almost pin point their rig.

My average utilization is 322 watts, and my peak is 366 watts. I'm curious to what others are getting.

289 with 317 peak. Looks like for most peeps a 400W power supply does the job.

295w on an Enermax 350 Switching Power Supply.

I guess it's working hard for the money.

Cool link Chem

Actually, I think we are interpretting the results wrong.
The wattage value it generates is not your current
consumption, but the suggested power supply.
Am I wrong?

Its current consuption. It also mentions a very tip when buying a PSU, which is that pure wattage rating honestly means nothing beyond what you'll need. A good solid 12v+ rail is what you need in todays computers, then wattage, and then the other rails.

Interesting to see that everyone is usually within each other. As for my PSU, its a modded Antec Truepower 480watt.
