I have tried many different ways to get a hold of Mr. Pants to find out if an EO for UT3 is in the works, but no response yet. It seems that when you what something done, ya gots ta do it yerself! So, I am going to take a stab at a completely new mod based on the EO gameplay.
Now we all have played EO and know what we love, so my first step is to find out what kind of features we want in the mod. So far...
1. EO for UT3 Features:
a. Start with full ammo, no ammo pickups, regen rate of .25 ammo unit per second (Takes 60 seconds to regen full clip).
b. Rate of Fire to match EO v3.2
c. Inertia transfer (Weapons Jumping)
d. Instant weapon readiness. On weapon swap, no more waiting to load a clip. (If you were carrying 3 weapons wouldn't you all ready have them locked and loaded?)
e. Shoot and swap weapons while on hover board and while grappled to vehicle.
f. Weapon boosting, like in UT1 instagib.
g. Health and Shield regen, no pickups.
h. Teleporter launch toggle.
i. Excessive Vehicles, this is my biggest issue with UT3. Some vehicles physics are vastly improved while others seem really strange. For example, the Manta has much better air control. While the Scorpion handles a wiener mobile with balloon tires. Try making a jump in the thing and even with a perfect ramp the damn thing fly’s thru the air like a wounded duck. So adding air control and better suspension would be on the top of my list.
j. Hover board, now this is a nice addition to the game (I always liked the Tony Hawk series). I find it intensely annoying that if I get hit on the board, I fall off, take my sweet *** time getting back up and fragged to pieces by the noob who got in a lucky shot and now is pounding my *** while I am trying to get up. Lame! If knocked off, I should be able to roll and recover with guns a blazing. So maybe something like taking extra damage while on the hover board if you get shot, but not be knocked off. Also, we should be able to change and shoot weapons. It would be nice to be able to shoot backwards while moving forward too.
The hover board really need some improvements, but we need to add something special to entice the use of the hover board. Let’s face it, with weapon jumping being the fastest way to get from point A to point B is with a weapon jump. So maybe we need to make the board move faster that a WJ, but with less air control.
This is just an outline of the features I want to see. You input and wishes are mandatory.
