ROFL, indeed. Raiding has a way of eating up time, doesn't it? That's one of the reasons I quit. The expansion came out and as I was watching all my precious raid gear disappear, as we started hitting Karazan, I realized that I didn't want to raid anymore.
So I didn't raid. Instead I rolled a couple new characters to see the new lowbie content (which, incidentally, was absolutely fantastic). But once my belf and space-pally were out of the new areas there was nothing new left to see or do, so I quit.
If I go back it will be because they've added something new other than more raid or pvp sh*t. As long as I'm not raiding the game doesn't eat up any more of my time than any other game does.

Try LOTRO or wait for Warhammer, cause Bliz isn't gonna change ****. Every patch continues to convince me that the developers are lost.

I did try Lotro. I think Turbine did a fantastic job with the license. Unfortunately one of the things I liked about wow was the wide variety of possibilities even within a single class, as well as the wide variety of classes. Lotro really fails in that respect with very little variety and very little to try that is even remotely appealing. I enjoyed my free month but that game isn't worth a montly fee.
Warhammer is of no interest to me. I do not enjoy mmo pvp, it is the bikeyest of the queerbikes.
Conan just looks ****ing dull.

I haven't even paid enough attention to the game to know, how much are they charging per month?

Same as wow unless you were in the open beta and preordered (in which case you got a reduced monthly fee of $9.95 until you had a break in service).
I'm a huge Tolkien nerd so I really did appreciate how well they stuck to canon where they could. By and large the places where they diverged from canon were either caused by the game format (how to stay true to Tolkien's vision AND have a hundred hobbits running around killing wolves in The Old Forest?) and the license restrictions caused by that dick Christopher Tolkien.

I'm a huge Tolkien fan so I considered it, but of all the things I read nothing screamed to me that it would be worthwhile longterm. Course, it helps that I'm stoked for Warhammer (my hope is it'll do right in pvp what Bliz has done terrible wrong: simplify things rather than overcomplicate).
Still contemplating the whole Children of Hurin thing...

My friend and I built a pretty good team on that server which ranked #2...but it started to take up to much of my time and the game started to become more of a job then something to have fun with. So I simply uninstalled the game and never looked back really. I enjoy the free time away from it hehe.
Sap I would give you some good advise and leave it in remission lol. Your family and everyone eles will be happy to see you are still alive hehe.
And ya WarBlade it was fun playing with you again last night lol there were some pretty cheap moments there. Cant wait to do it again. I plan to play once in a while now so I dont think it will be to long before I throw some more lg shots your way hehe.
Anyways I was wondering if DvT still does the Thur and Sunday night get together? And if not can anyone tell me the times and days when yall guys hit the server? I wanna jump on in and throw some flaks at Hex :^)

It's my opinion that what Blizzard did wrong was putting pvp in their game at all. Adding pvp into a game system that is specifically designed for an entirely different type of play causes problems. PvE should never have been impacted by any pvp balance considerations ever. Which was a selling point for me on lotro: they stated up front that any and all pvp balance issues would be addressed without ever changing any of the player classes.
And that statement is very important because it heads all the pvp crybabies off at the pass. It wasn't Blizzard that ruined WoW by including pvp in their game, it was all the pvpers who just could not stop crying when they lost.
In fact it's wow's playerbase itself that made the game environment suck so much. Ultimately I blame every parent that footed the bill for a child under 18. F*ck the lot of them.

You've got a very valid point there. Bliz spent way too much time listening to whining morons complain about the state of "class balance" based on something that was obviously an after thought to the game. Why they allow 12 year olds who have no valuable input ("Nerf this plz, it is imbalanced" does not count since I don't trust them to know **** about what balance is) determine the outcome of the game is beside me.
I still feel like the devs hold a good chunk of blame though, and a large part of that is the class I played the most. Hunters were just like pvp: an afterthought. And due to that, the devs never figured out what the **** they wanted the class to do. Which is why hunters have changed over and over again. And since it is the one class that a braindead moron/bot can effectively play now due to buffing the hunter's pet so much, the devs didn't mind changing the actual player's role completely in reaction to that . As if getting something as stupid as tranq shot to be viable wasn't pathetic enough.
Wonder how long this game will last before it implodes...
