Introducing the newest member of my ever-growing family...

Emmalyn Elise Campbell was born on October 1st at 2:17pm, weighing 6 pounds and 9 ounces.

I would have posted sooner but this is the first time I've sat at a computer since that day. Everyone is mostly healthy and fine, though my wife did have a particularly bad time this time through... The Epidural Headache was debilitating, and the cure was traumatic (not my words here, folks... for several days afterwards she would burst into tears just thinking about how much getting the blood patch hurt).

She says Emmalyn was worth it all, though I may be in grave physical danger of having an appendage removed in my sleep if I knock my wife up again.

Emmalyn has already shown signs of being a Deviant. She beat the doctor into the delivery room. We were told by the nurse later that that hasn't happened there in about 8 years.

Congrats man she a beauty. There are ways to prevent forcible removal of the offending appendage and they give you good drugs for the procedure if you whine enough

Man, I'd need much more than just "good drugs" to convince me to hinder the proper function my boys.

That's quite a coincidence. This is our third child as well.

But according to my wife the headache wasn't really the worst part. It took them five tries to get the epidural needle in, so in the process they bruised up her back and her spine quite fully. She wasn't exactly pleased about the blood patch requiring a needle be stuck into the worst of it, either.

She's a keeper, Sapient. Grats. Deviant girls are the best.

Getting spayed (ok, vasectomy) wasn't all that bad, not to mention the immediate and long term rewards that occurred due to the procedure...to wit...that night I was sitting on the edge of my daughter's bed reading her a story when, for whatever reason, I began to feel lightheaded. I paused for a moment and bent forward to give my head a chance to clear. The next thing I knew I was getting up off the floor (I had done a sommersault) with a very sympathetic 3 year old being all concerned about the well-being of her daddy (which lasted for several days following - the immediate reward...) and a horrific tale of unbearable trauma with which to annoy the wife for a life-time (...and the long term).
