I read the article through, but I'm not sure I understand what I'm supposed to call objectionable. I can only guess that you see this as a blatant "hey, vote for me cuz I'm black" moment, which in a way I guess it is. To be honest I'm a bit more inclined to find offense in Huckabee implying that SC should proudly fly the Southern Cross again... which is kind of a "hey, vote for me cuz I'm white" moment.

The race card is going to be played a lot because Obama has a strong chance of being the first black president, and because that's a very big deal. Perhaps I'd be more inclined to find this article offensive if I wasn't certain that millions of people will be voting against him because of the color of his skin.

At any rate, reverse racism is a myth. You can't have White Pride Parades without being branded a racist because white isn't a race. There are all sorts of gatherings that fill the same exact bill without being racist, you just have to figure out what heredity it is you want to celebrate. As a Scotsman I've got plenty, and anyone who calls me a racist for wearing my clan's kilt might want to reconsider how badly he wants to get in a fight with a drunken scotsman wearing a traditional kilt.

If you are "pro" any race you will NEVER get my vote.
I know it seems like a coincidence that I like Obama. Believe me when I tell you, at first I was like who is this guy, he has no chance. After “listening” to his views of certain issues, I’ve come to the conclusion that he is the “best” possible answer for this country. I stayed up until 3am this morning watching the Democratic debates. Hillary and Edwards just can’t compete with him on debates.

anyone that refuses to put his hand over his heart and sing the national anthem EVERY SINGLE TIME will NEVER get my vote. which means, sorry to say, Obama will NEVER get my vote.

So you're not going to vote for me? I'm crushed!

(I've never been a big fan of nationalism)

I have found all the games the Clinton gang have been playing in the public eye to be extremely funny, but embarrasing. The crying, the bullying bit... it's all just pitiful. Should the leader of the free world be tearing up in front of the world because this is all so "hard?"

She just come off so unbelievably two-faced to me...

I will say that while I'm not a fan of all of Obama's ideas, I do like the honesty and the straightforwardness he seems to portray when questions on issues are posed to him. Certainly his character does not come into question in my mind... just his ideas.

I honestly haven't found any candidate yet that has made me think "Yes, I'm voting for this person."

I have to agree on all of your points! I still haven't found one single candidate from either party that excites me enough to say "Yes, they have my vote"........... It seems to be a trend over the past 4 or 5 elections too, and it's only getting worse.

My understanding is that Obama does recite the pledge of allegiance and the national anthem.

Urban Legends Reference Pages: Barack Obama and the National Anthem

YouTube - Obama Recites Pledge of Allegiance before Senate on 6/21/07

I'm going to say that you're voting for no one then, and you yourself wouldn't be a choice. The pledge also has a number of issues in it and I would personally like some changes, otherwise each time I'm suppose to say it I'll continue to give my own personal one, something along the lines of wishing government would actually work as intended, etc.

I hate todays politics... Sorry to change the subject a little bit, but, All these bills passed in Congress and Senate with so much crap added on to please other folks to get their votes. I would love to see bills passed that only concern the topic, and not have other crap added on that wouldn't pass as stand alone bills! But, that would be close to forming a Utopian Society, so, no chance!
