Putting your hand over your heart has signified the love one has for his country. If Obama feels compelled to not do that....then.....you tell me why?

it doesn't change the way he feels about changing the country for the better. And believe me, after all the bullshit Bush has gotten us into, we need to let the world know we mean bussiness now. Obama will do a great job.
|
You, nor anybody can say truthfully that what Bush has done is a bad thing. This won't be known for 10-20 years from now. If what he has done turns out to be the seed that reformed the most troubled and violent part of the world, year after year, into a peaceful region....then he will go down in history as one of the best presidents ever.
Alas Snipes, I'm afraid you are just talking bull "before" the facts..hehe. History is repeating itself

That separation didn't come about the way you probably think. Jefferson intended to keep gov't out of religion..not the other way around.
Unless that was what you meant...but I doubt it.
Btw, how is the family Dad?

The family is doing great! Emmalyn is just the happiest baby ever and the boys have been loving all the snow. I haven't been loving the snow quite as much as they have, but neither of them is old enough to help me shovel our driveway or their grandmother's.

It is a bit different, I agree. My wife suggested the name after coming across it in a baby names book and I agreed, making it the first name we agreed on. I thought it sounded a little familiar but couldn't quite place it. Turns out it's the name of a girl I gave guitar lessons to long ago.

Congrats... S6....
Now back to the good stuff....
[top]Obama proposes $210 billion for new jobs
Ten year plan focuses on construction, environmental employment
WASHINGTON - Democrat Barack Obama said Wednesday that as president he would spend $210 billion to create jobs in construction and environmental industries, as he tried to win over economically struggling voters.
Obama's investment would be over 10 years as part of two programs. The larger is $150 billion to create 5 million so-called "green collar" jobs to develop more environmentally friendly energy sources.
Sixty billion would go to a National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank to rebuild highways, bridges, airports and other public projects. Obama estimated that could generate nearly 2 million jobs, many of them in the construction industry that's been hit by the housing crisis.

Oh yeah, and this would be funded by ending the war in Iraq (our people died for nothing) and taxing the wealthy more than they already are.

Ending the war in Iraq is a bad thing? I'm sorry, but staying over there and doing nothing is not going to help us but rather keep getting more of our people dead. In in order for our people to have not died in vein we must have had a purpose or be achieving a purpose, of which we're not currently doing nor ever did. I'm also nearly 100% confident that the majority of our "people" over there would be more than happy to have it over. I know every single person I've talked to who have come back from a tour (two close family members and siblings of close friends) wants it over. There are exceptions, there always will be, but in order to have a justified war and therefore justified deaths you have to have a real reason. We have none.
As for taxing the wealthy, go for it. I have this funny feelings its not going to make them unwealthy. Taxes are not fair, likely never will be. Life is not fair, and most certainly never will be. Oh well. Maybe they'll get joy out of knowing its going for a good potentially good and economic healthy purpose.
