Nice, good looking young man UY. My oldest is working on the paperwork right now to join the marines. Wants to be heading for boot around 1 May. Any words of wisdom that he wont listen to before he gets to far into the process and cant correct the error/ You should be very proud of you boy, I know I am.

My faith will be tested to the max on this. I will be praying more and harder than I ever have before. I trust my God and hope it is within His will to keep my son safe. He certainly knows how I feel about it.

Thanks for the kind comments and yes, I am very proud of him.

I hope he stays safe and I hope he doesn't have to kill anybody.

Spent the weekend with him...he is quite the changed young man. He has honor and pride now..something I missed in him before.

He will be going to Afghanistan instead of Iraq. Although plenty dangerous, I don't think it is as bad as Iraq.

I'll quit posting about him unless something significant occurs and apologize for exploiting him here the way I have. It's just that I have never been so proud of him before. It has nothing to do with supporting the war or not...it has everything to do with supporting my son who is serving his country.
