OMG!!!!!!!!! http://users.skynet.be/fotoopa/highspeed_frame_set.htm
That right there is teh pwnage. I've thought about doing the stereo thing but never got around to it. I saw an experiment where someone had a couple beads with different letters on them and wanted them to bounce and form a word. Hours and hours and HOURS of waiting for the perfect shot and he finally got it. He didn't want to photoshop it, it was amazing. I wish I'd kept the pic.
Thanks for posting... definitely something to chew on and get ideas from!

Let me tell you weekend camera warriors. your not going to consistently replicate any of these shots. These images were shot with a high speed CMOS camera shooting at around 500fps.
These types of cameras are used for car crash testing, air bag deployment, bullet proof material testing ( I passed a company to POK General) for a camera that shot 2000fps.
Its cool stuff and very damn expensive.

Capt - I just copied and pasted what was at the top of my browser. i thought it would be a link to the page i was at, which were the drops of colored water shots. (water figures gallerie)
RKT - weekend camera warriors? what does that mean? and thanks for bursting my bubble.

PS I've seen dozens and dozens of water droplet pics taken by cameras like mine. maybe a little more expensive but not much. I've always wanted to have some to call my own.

hehehe Weekend Warrior is what my camera friends at the shop call non professionals who are passionate about photography, it's a compliment.
Capturing a water droplet fall is one thing, getting a crystal clear picture of the water droplet impacted is another. I will try to borrow one of these high speed digital CMOS cameras and see what kind of fun I can have with it on top of a microscope.

The best high speed picture that I have ever seen was of a popping water ballon. I showed the ballon had popped and the water was still in the shape of the balloon. That was the coolest thing I ever saw, now I cant remember where it was or find that pic again Maybe after I get some bills caught up, I'll buy a new camera and try to get one like it
