CMOS vs CCD

I am hosting a microscopy digital imaging training class in a few weeks and was doing some additional research to explain the difference between CMOS and CCD technology as it relates to microscopy.

I found this article interesting and thought some of you may find it interesting to learn the pros and cons to both technology.

In the scientific community, CCD is still the dominant technology but CMOS is starting to catch up.

I have one CCD and one CMOS digital camera. On my Sony, it uses a CCD, for my Nikon D-70, it uses CMOS.
