My Latest Competition Entries

I entered a local photo competition tonight and won 2nd place in both the color print and the b/w print divisions. The subject them was "Close-up/Macro" and the them guidelines were.. "Actual subject must be a "maximum" of 8" x 10". Look at familiar things in a different way and reveal qualities that are not noticed by the casual observer and the identity of the subject is hidden. Images that appeal purely on its photographic qualities. "

Here are my two 2nd place entries.

"Golden Bits"

"Nothing But Net"

Just had to pat brag a little

They were not first place but there were probably 75 pics in the color category and 30 in the b/w one. Funny thing is the same guy took first in both categories..and I took second in both...weird eh?

The second one is cool enuff,
but I think it could have been more interesting.

wtf happened to my post? it was legit: i pointed out that i thought the pictures were cool and noted (to the less informed) that the first picture is of titanium drill bits.

You sure you posted it here Capt? I didn't touch anything so I don't know what happened.

As for Varm's pics... he knows the first one is my favourite because of the color

They're so golden and pretty. Definitely like the pattern - mesmorizing.

The black and white is technically very nice but like dudio said, I think it lacks the wow factor the first one has. It takes a lot for me to love a B&W. But for the assignment Varm was given, it's a great fit!

you sure there titanium? they could be cobalt

. same color different properties

. but the pics look like titanium to me hehe.

didn't know they made cobalt bits, but besides the titanium ones are easy to get at a local hardware store so it's more likely varm would have em

Capt. no one deleted or editted any of your posts. I think you may have got hung up on the spellchecker thingy....

I can almost 100% assure you, no one deleted your post. I would be able to see it if someone did. Perhaps you posted it somewhere else?

The Admins at FoS are proud to say that no one's post has ever been deleted so far and only one case where an admin eddited a post. This is because of the classy people who post here. I know you are a great memeber who posts and contributes great things. I would be stunned if you would ever post anything that would warrant a deletion or editted. Even if you did, you have warranted enough good standing that you would get the benefit of the doubt or a PM asking you to change something if that unlikely event ever occurred.
