well I did it

finally bought a nice camera, although it will probably be too complicated for me. So anyway I got the cannon EOS Digital Rebel XT. So stand by for some questions, hopefully you guys/girls can help if needed. Does anyone else have this model?

Nice camera dude, The only way to get use to using it is to go out and experiment. Take loads of pics and adjust what you do until you get what you like. I guess you could read the manual to start

yeah I've been eyeing that camera for sometime and since my kid broke my inexpensive olympus(which was pretty old) I thought what the hell ya know. And yeah MA I plan on reading the manual but...ya know how that goes. I probably will stick to the settings available at the top of the camera, there seems to be enough up there to do most "normal" photography

funny i'll be going from an olympus to a canon too, jt

the built-in scene settings are usually plenty enough to get you by for some really nice pics. it took me a long time to be brave enough to mess with more manual settings. i was afraid of missing a good picture of something because of wrong settings. just playing around with it when you get a chance is probably the best way to learn.
