new dslr coming next month

Was trying to save up money for a canon 20d, digital rebel xt or nikon d70, but i just saw this coming out next month and I think I'll wait a bit longer.

and i've heard a lot of good things about the e500
octubre is JUST around the corner so you really won't be waiting too long
i say snatch that up if you got the money! i think you'll do some amazing things with it

Nielooking camera. I will have to wait until next year to look at getting something new.

I still think the optics on the lenses from Canon and Nikon are better then the Olympus. Camera looks slow compared to the 20D, Rebel XT and D70 shooting at 2.5fps...

I will review when I have more time and give you my opinion.

If I was starting out with no camera or lenses to build from....this is what I would get.

Under $1000 - Nikon d50 OR Canon 350

$1000 - $2000 - Canon 20d

Then after that..the new Canon 5d coming out is going to be around $3000 to $3500.. I would pee on myself to own one...

I would not venture outside the Canon or Nikon realm for consumer digital SLRs...no way.... The lens choices, support, resale market for lenses and camera bodies. I'm in a relatively large camera club and I no of no one who doesn't use Nikon or Canon. I am sure that no one who has placed in a a competition uses anything other than those two as well.
