i've always liked the "below the waist" pics and i've been meaning to try some of my own. it makes a picture so interesting because you know there's people, but you can't see their faces. you can judge them by the shoes they wear and the pants, or lack of. you can tell a lot about the people without having to see their face.

this is a really neat shot varm and my only crit isn't with the picture... i just think you went overboard a bit with the framing. the white especially - instead of drawing your attention to the picture and accenting it, the white is overbearing.

well if its a picture he developed himself and scanned, maybe he didn't trim away the excess paper. although you do have a point with that

This was a gospel quartet yesterday afternoon and it was the second time I have taken event photos our local arts center. The first time was at that Shakespeare play.. I got a shot of shoes at that one too.

Feet/shoes seem to say just so much.. I was sitting at the stage listening to this gospel quartet and poppin off phtoos when I noticed that they all had different types of well worn cowboy boots underneath their matching suits and ties. It was funny enough I took a shot. Unfortunately ...only one as it turned out to be one of my favorite shots. I wish I could have had all the shooes line up from left to right instead of having that one guy behind the other in the middle..

Thanks for the comments...i may just tone down that border a bit..maybe sample a color out of the photo or something...
