I miss going to dog shows Growing up my mother showed SLH dachshund's and we had the top dachshund in Canada for a while, Tommy, may he rest in peace He was my boy I never paid much attention to the larger breeds though even though I'm pretty well educated in general, but can't guess this puppy. You sure there is no Akita?

there are all black versions of norwegian elkhounds. I have looked at many many different pictures and seen some elkhounds that look exactly like mine. Ill have to go find them.

Oh and I did see the mother and the father. the mother was grey but the father had black in it. I dunno maybe I got conned and it is a mutt and it very well could be as I didnt pay near what the going price for elkhounds are.

http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/norwegianelkhound.htm first picture the elkhound has black in it although not near what mine does.

Looking up akita brings

the tails curl exactly like my dogs. Hmm wonder where I should go to make sure of what exactly my dog is. Like i said I paid 1/4 of what normal prices for these dogs are so its a big possability this is a mutt. cute though :D.

From your own link-
"The stand-off double coat has a distinctive gray color with a lighter undercoat and undersides."

Your original pics made him look redish and brown, not grey.

And Elkhound is a high energy dog, good luck!
"The Norwegian Elkhound is a very energetic dog that thrives on strenuous activity. It should have at least an hour of exercise a day. It will enjoy a run beside your bike or a really good run in the woods, but remember that these dogs like to roam. If it picks up an interesting scent, it may ignore you when you call it."
