WOOT! My lens kit is complete!

No more lens purchases for me, unless it's for a job or safari!

Just brought back home a Sigma 10-20mm that I got for $400 even. Someone was selling his on FredMiranda and I recognized his name from another thread in which he was selling his telephoto. In that thread he posted two pictures of animals at the zoo... and I thought I recognized the animals from the Cinci zoo (lion and elephant, no backgrounds). I asked if he lived close to Cinci, and he said he was from Hamilton, a town 15 minutes away!

I bought the lens the same day, no more shipping fee, $80 off retail, only three weeks old with only 12 shots taken with it. Apparently the guy bought it, took some shots around his house, and decided wideangle wasn't for him.

This is truly a small world.

The wideangle was the final lens that I needed to complete my kit. I'm so happy the money spending for lenses is over... now all I need is a flash and an empty milkjug.

Rebel XT
Sigma 50-500mm
Sigma 10-20mm
Tamron 180mm Macro - bought and replacing both the 90mm and 70-200mm
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Extension Tubes
Feisol Tripod and Bogen Ballhead

Tamron 90mm Macro - Selling
Canon 70-200mm f/4L - Selling

Total Price Spent for things I will keep: $2645

my guess would be... it has something to do with softening the flash?? i don't know though... but i do know that i like cheap things vs. real things if they work (ala coffee filters!!!!!!)

What are you looking to get out of your Tamron 90mm Macro lens? You have it on Ebay yet?

Yup yup, it's on eBay. I'm hoping to get at least $265 plus $10 shipping out of it so that I can break even after eBay and paypal fees.

I shot the first time tonight with my Sigma 10-20 and so far I like it. Not postable shots as they were high iso and were just quick snaps..but dude... I hade one with my friends standing in the parking lot about 10ft away and the moon which was almost directly overhead..was neat as sheit.

Haha, I know what you mean. The first time I looked through the lens I was like whoa.... the only thing that I don't like is the distortion and the leaning of buildings/trees, but I guess you get this from all wideangles, which is unfortunate.

Oddly enough, I find that the 15mm (24mm equiv.) end more closely approximates my own field of view from one of my eyes, not some "normal" 50mm lens.
