Canon Ixus 750 vs Canon 5d

I recently bought a new "ZLR" (point and click) camera. It's a 7 MP Canon Ixus 750. It seemed to take good pictures and I was actually afraid the images might be almost as good as my 5d. On a bright sunny day they're nearly as good but at night it's a very different story! If you're wondering what the difference between a "normal" camera and a nice SLR I think this picture sums it up nicely! It's a pair of crops from shots of a bridge over the River Rhine in Mainz. You can probably guess which one is which!

Certainly a massive difference there. You can really tell the point and shoot struggles with night time photots.
