Photo Printer

Does anyone know of a good printer to print out photos. Looking for one that will print photos out good on a normal 8.5 X 11 paper also.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mike

HP InkJet printers are good. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...bCategory =38
I can't remember the one we have at home, but it's great. Used with photo paper, it makes sweet prints.

I like my hp photosmart 7760 printer other than the tab broke for the picture part so I ahve to take the tray off to engage the photopaper tray and disengage it.

I have an HP photosmart 2575 and love it. Does great pics and regular printing without using the premium ink. Just make sure you use decent photo paper. They actually have some pretty good package deals where you get the foto paper and ink cartridge together for less then what you can buy them separately.

I have the HP Photosmart 8250 and it's a pretty good printer. 6 individual ink cartridges. If you read the reviews some people complain that you can see the ink drops because it's like a 5 picoliter printer whereas the Canons and Epsons use smaller picoliter drops. I've looked and looked and I can't see them. To me, they are beautiful prints. This generation HP printers are supposed to be more frugal using ink, but the cartridges are smaller, but they are cheaper, and on and on. Alls i know is if you really start digging into the specs and reviews to try to get the best printer for your money, you'll never get one:-).
IMHO this is the bottom line: all the newer generation printers (HP, Canon, and Epson) will give you awesome prints BUT if you do a lot of photo printing and want the best prints each one will do, you're gonna pay for the paper and especially the ink. Boy, do they get you for the ink.

I have had many photo printers over the past few years. I had a Canon for a bit that printed awesome pictures, but even with their best paper and ink, I noticed that the pictures faded in less than 2 years. I have 5 different HP printers now. Some I use for Color pictures, and I have one just for black and white pictures. None of the pictures have shown any signs of fading. If you do buy a good printer, make sure you buy their recommended branded ink, not the cheap knock offs.

Yeah, I agree with Erad on the ink. You'll pay a bit more, but in the long run it will be worth it. And make sure you get good photo paper, too. The images won't come out the same on regular printer paper.
Also, look into printers that have a separate photo-only ink cartridge. We have that on ours at home, and I think it will make a difference.

laminating the pictures takes care of that issue. And yes a proper laminated picture will look like it was never laminated and yes it will fit into any picture frame of that pictures size.

I been looking at the new epson high def printers! cx6000 for $149
they use 9 different ink cartridges rather than 2 or 3.. each color it's own cartridge.. they also print waterproof and fast drying...

PRINT SIZES

What size do you want your prints? Will you primarily want 4"x6" or a variety of sizes? Print sizes range from: cute wallets, 4"x6", 4"x8", 5"x7", 4"x12" panoramic to full page 8.5"x11". Want even bigger prints? Pro photo printers, such as the HP Photosmart 8750 and HP Photosmart B9180 are capable of producing breathtaking photos up to 13"x19".

MEMORY CARD SLOTS

How do you get the camera’s photos to your printer? You can go through your computer, but the fastest way is to take your camera’s memory card and insert it directly into your photo printer. There are many different types of cards so you want to make sure your printer can accept the type your digital camera uses. Basically, the more memory slots the better.

PHOTO QUALITY

When it comes to sharp photos, HP printers wrote the book. HP Photosmart photo printers offer up to 4800 x 1200 dots per inch (that's a lot of dots). That means amazingly sharp, lab-quality photos. Combine that with our next-generation HP Vivera inks & HP Premium Plus photo paper, and you can expect optimum color and the highest quality prints, that resist fading up to 110 years.**

LCD DISPLAY & EASE OF USE

No matter how good the photos it prints, it’s got to be easy to use. An easy to use printer should allow you to see dazzling photos with a few touches of a button. A built in LCD display makes it even easier, because you can see what you’re getting before you print. Test drive your next photo printer to make sure it’s easy to use.

5"X7"S FROM SELECT COMPACT PRINTERS

Only HP’s compact, portable photo printers can print big 5"x7" prints. Wow your friends and family with big, bright prints at the touch of a button.

RED EYE REMOVAL

Most HP photo printers have built in red eye removal. With the press of a button those scary red eyes are transformed into natural eye color.

ARCHIVAL PRINTS
Use HP Vivera inks and HP Premium Plus photo paper to get light-fade resistance superior to that of lab-processed silver-halide photos.**
BUILT-IN PHOTO EDITING

Most HP Photosmart printers allow you to edit photos right in the printer. With creative effects you can crop,
