ooops.. missed that.

I got it at Wolf Camera in Chicago. I got the camera body, 25-70mm lens, memory card and case for 1,100 . Also got a free printer /CD printer at no charge.

I probably could have done a tad better on pricing on the internet but to save $50- wouldn't have been worth it. I got to use it for an hour before buying it so I really pushed it....

It was nice to test the Canon 20D against the Nikon D70. For my hand, I was able to reach all the back panel controls easier with my hand then the Canon 20D. The Cannon 20D was 1,399 w/ a 50mm lens, no case and no memory card. Don't get me wrong, the 20D is incredible and well worth it's premium price, but reformatting 8Meg images, and the fact that the D70 had better manual controls pushed me over the top.

I suggest if your in the market, to take a test drive with it and see what you think. In manual mode it's not for a novice by any means, but I own a Pentex K1000 (all manual) SLR and the Nikon felt more like it then the Canon. The one other observation I have which is very important is balance of weight. With a bigger lens, the Canon balance is off, the nose drops and it requires more effort to balance the camera. The Nikon did a better job of balancing a 70mm lens.

that's what Nikon calls them. Right below where it says Nikon on RKT's, you will see AF-s Nikkor

It can be used interchangeably.

ugh, didn't think that was that long. should have left it as a link.

RKT - my lil brother has one. He graduated from VSU with a BA in Art. He had his own dark room and developed his own black and white film when still a high school student. I've seen him do some neat things in the past. blah blah. He absolutely loves his D70. I shot a few pics, not knowing what I was doing with it (before i started to dabble in photography) and love the weight and feel of it. On the flip side I have held a canon EOS digital rebel (the 6 meg one) and it has good form, but is very very light. I certainly understood what you meant with heavier lenses on the canon 20d made it tip over a bit. The nikon defintely has the better feel advatange due to weight. As for comparing the two top cameras (nikond70 and canon 20d) i rely on a few camerea review sites that seem very unbiased. The weight is all I can talk about it. everything else i know is from reviews. But my brother stills thinks I would be happier with the nikond70 over the canon 20d.
