It's funny, 50% go for the Canon, and 50% for the Nikon. I don't think you can go wrong either way to be honest with you. It's all about preference. The one thing I have noticed is that people who own the D70 or 20D love them. What more can you ask for.

yup. it seems that way.

I'm probably going to want an external flash down the road for creative lighting. Funny thing is my brother doesn't feel like he needs one. Does the d70 have red-eye reduction?

My built in flash on my 6006 has slow and slow rear flash. I have two exposures left. might try something tonight.

The D70 very much has a red eye reduction option. Your brother should reconsider getting an external flash, the pop up flash in a number of situations can create unnatural light shading. A good external flash will remove that concern.

Let me know how the flash works out.

I believe Insane's camera has a slow flash mode on his. I saw a couple of pictures where someone had used a slow flash and he moved a flashlight around in an arc. it was interesting.
