Alright Laura, here it is:
I got my new Digital SLR this weekend but not the Canon 20D. I got a great price of a Nikon D70 w/ a Nikkor 15-70mm lens with a 1 gig mem card. The price was to good to pass on and dealing with 8Mpixel images is a bit much. I can also use my fathers older Nikkor lens with the D70 so that was pretty much the turning point. Charging the batteries as we speak and will take it on a trip with me to N. California. I will post the pics when I get back...
Here are a few shots of the new D70 on my office desk...

Pictures were taken with my old Sony. I will give her a nice rest now, she has been my photo companion for five years....

Congrats! Did the little tripod come with it. One of the features I like about this camera is the lcd protector on the back. I'm notorious for touching that lcd panel.

Thanks guys and gals, knew you folks would take an interest in it. The back LCD cover really was meant for shipping, it really distorts the view.
I am surprised, if you look real close to the pictures (couple of them), one of my most wordly posessions is in the background and no one caught it. Anyone care to guess what it is?
I can't wait to start snapping shots in Lake Tahoe...!!!!!

Sorry Hakko, missed your comment about the mini tripod. I actually owned that before, I picked it up for $15 at Best Buy to support my little Sony. I'll tell you, it's a nice little thing to have if you keep your camera on your desk..... It uses a standard screw thread for big tripods, it was a worthy purchase back in the day.

You got it Hakko!!!! It's a personally autographed ticket stub that he signed for me. I had a chance to talk to him for 15 minutes after a show, what a cool guy he was. He actually approached me and just started talking. Almost a year to the date, he died in a crash in Wisconsin. I saw his second to last concert. The die I found out he died, I was really upset.
I've been offered over $1,000 for it but will never part with it....
