Niece

Was snapping away at my niece today and got a few good ones, this one being my favourite. Edited on Photoshop CS2.

this is a great shot.. I wish there wasn't a shadow under the wrist, but I bet it wasn't possible to prevent that. I like that the bottom and top right hand corners are dark and not distracting from the main subject. I like the timing on this one too. Do you have one at the same angle of her holding the crayon and trying to draw too? I also like that you have some of her drawings in view making a good solid connection to what we see and what is happening.. If the drawings weren't present in the photo, I would have been under the impression that she is (for a lack of a better word) stealing a crayon to go cause mischef on the living room walls.

Thanks for sharing this with us. Can you tell us what you did in photoshop?

Nice picture Shows good contrast and the shade helps give it perspective.

Really nice pic Kid And good to hear from you again! What kind of camera did you end up getting? I can't remember - just curious. I wish my low-light shots would come out this nice

Hi all, thanks for the comments. I used photoshop to get better contrat and levels (Auto Contrast and Auto Levels, respectively) and for the conversion. Image --> Adjustments --> Hue and Saturation --> Click on colorize box, hue = 43 saturation =16, lightness= -10.

EDIT - as for the camera, I used the the Canon Digital Rebel 300D with a Sigma 18-50mm F3.5-5.6 lens.
