BF2142 Beta Next Week

IGN made a small mention on their page that next week FilePlanet subscribers will have access to the BF2142 beta. No date has been released but we believe it to be August 24th.

Battlefield 2142
Starting next week, Fileplanet subscribers will have the opportunity to check out the Battlefield franchise's foray into the future when the first phase of the beta begins. Players will be able to test out the new Titan mode as well as the wide array of new weaponry and vehicles. Some of the changes certainly sound like a lot of fun so we're pretty eager to take a look at the game ourselves.

well... Looks like this will split the ranks. I have no intention of getting this after what they did to bf2. Its gonna eb the same story endless patches that fix nothing..

For roughly $90(not including EF or AF) you got almost 875 hours out of the game so far, complain you will, but play you still.

You go to one bad new movie and you drop $10 for an hour and 30 minutes.

I don't think I will get BF2142 unless the demo blows me away. Crysis and QW will most likely my next big game purchases.

They did, it sold like crap! Lol!

Though I think the BF type gameplay could work, it just simply needs a major retooling, and EA is not the company to make such tweaks unless it benefits them in some way.

I think Quake Wars could be a way to do the gametype justice. Its being done by a studio that knows how to make a great game and its using a engine that at least is not terribly buggy.

I'm not sorry I wasted the hours or money I spent... The problem I have is the Total disregard for fixing issues. I'm not saying a game has to be 100% at release but, everyone else in the gaming industry including all the games I ever played NEVER took so long to fix problems that should have been dealt with early on not to mention the fact of constantly changing the game.

Its not even so much about the cheaters and hackers.. The problem that totally ticks me off about this is the whole, Well we can't admit we suck at fixing the errors so we tell you if you exploit the game your stats get reset. Follow the BFROE rulz or your done. I myself wouldn't fall into this category. I don't have to hack or cheat. I've adapted and didn't mind the changes... Then the go adding crap that never was needed. To say, "maybe if we give them more stuff they won't mind all the problems that we can't solve in this patch."

From my past experience with Companies like this, I can't see how EA is going to change this for the next generation of game which is really just bf2 with a Tribes 2/ Mechwarrior format. Its already been done.

I'm do agree that there are other games that will be more amusing then bf2142. I myself CAN'T wait for Crysis. I'm actually looking forward to Never-Winter Nights 2. While its not Totally the Highest tech with the absolute best graphics. I have always enjoyed playing RPG's Especially those that don't charge you a monthly fee. I've always been a AD&D nerd, so its time I take a break from the point and shoot, to the I cast magic missile on your *** in the dark!

Fear lets play that for a little while. Second map I played I was on a killing spree for quit some time lol.
