Neat finding..

I was going through some forum stuff on EA looking for some info on bf2 and came across this site.
Someone pointed this to another about system requirements...

lol I had no issues with selecting any game on the list and having it tell me it will run it. BF2:sf was actually the only one that was right on the edge for suggested settings. whereas everything else my computer was above the recommended (notice I didnt say minimum) settings.

My rig was well over the recommendation for every game I tried. The meter at the top of the page told me my comptuer rocks for each game. However, it still locks up in games for some reason.

Crashed Firefox. Now I don't care what the site tells me.

I suggest you all try The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I'm fairly certain that game recommends an X1800 card.

Nope, my rig rocked its socks. "Video Card Recommended: 128MB Direct3D compatible video card (NVIDIA GeForce 6800+ / ATI Radeon X800+)
You Have: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT (GeForce 7600 GT)"

Hmm, I guess. I'd venture to say a X800XL or a 6800GT (GS if PCIe) is just as fast as a 7600GT. Especially on the 6800GT, the 7600GT and 6800GT have the same exact feature set, except double the MADD performance in the pixel pipeline of the 7600GT, which doesnt matter the card is still to slow to do anything with it.

The problem with these type of things is that they simply analyze generation and compare a bit of logical knowledge of what model it is.

Perfect example is what if you have a Pentium D 805, which is just a dual core at 2.66Ghz, rather slow really. Well, lets say you OC'd it to 3.5Ghz, you've then got a decent performance boost, enough to make a difference in some games.

This program would have no clue how to really anyalze that. It'd have no clue how to think about how a 6800GS with lets say 4 more pixel pipelines unlocked would perform.

So really its rather limited, its good for the people who buy Dell's and have no real clue, and that's why such testing will be included with Vista, but it falls flat on its face beyond any analyzation with depth. It also probably has no clue that an A64 2800+ performs better in games than a P4 2.8Ghz, but it'll still rank them the same.

but chem it tells you (in my case 3500) that my amd 3500+ is running at 2.2ghz which is ABOUT the same speed as a p4 running 3.5ghz. Noticed the word ABOUT.

I am sure it isnt completly accurate but it is close .
