Gamespy's top games played
Number one surprised me as being Half-Life. I thought it would be HL2 especially with CSS, though that one is second.

doesnt really surprise me. cs is definitely still more popular than css, so hl1 has more than hl2. i'm surprised sof2 is 11th though. that game's what, 5 years old now? i really hope they bring out sof3. that game was more fun than css to me

Yep, many older PC's out there still that do not run HL2 very well.
Plus many just never liked the 'feel' of CSS

Its wrong. WoW is most certainly the most played online game and game. It probably has 20x more people than CS at any given time.

Lemme guess, these must only be servers that are tracked on gamespy

Good to see UT2004 at #6 with BF2142 and BF2 being 3 and 4.

When I checked though, HL2 is ranked 1, HL is two. Maybe a live server/player count????

But they're not.... at least not exactly. They're wrong in that its not the most played, WoW is. But they're numbers only include games that can have public servers, those run by people like you and me. WoW servers are of course Blizzard only (legit ones anyway) and therefore the servers and players are not included in these numbers.
